Description
The Tacony Palmyra bridge from the Roof Top of the Palmyra Cove Nature center. Tacony section of Philadelphia with Palmyra New Jersey the Tacony Palmyra Bridge Route 73. The Bridge is a combination of a steel arch, and a double-leaf bascule bridge over the Delaware River. The bridge is 3,659 feet long and spans 2,324 feet. Architect Ralph Modjeski designed the bridge and it took one and a half years to construction, opening in 1929. In 1996 97 over a year and a half the bridge had a deck replacement. The draw bridge is located immediately southeast of the main, arched span.
