The Trough Creek State Park is a 554 acre paradise located within Huntingdon County, PA. Trough Creek State Park consists of beautiful scenic gorges, hiking trails, and natural wonders that can all be found along Great Trough Creek. The creek cuts through Terrace Mountain and empties into Raystown Lake. Trough Creek State Park has 10 different hiking trails within the park. The hiking trails consist of a total of 12 miles of roughed hiking. Some of the trails will lead to natural wonders like the Ice Cave, Balanced Rock and Rainbow Falls. Trough Creek State Park borders Rothrock State Forest and Raystown Lake Recreation Area.
Trough Creek State Park has five picnic areas available throughout the park. The park has one large picnic pavilion and two smaller pavillions that may be reserved for a fee. Reservations can be made up to 11 months in advance. The rest of the picnic areas are unreserved and are available for free on a first-come, first-served basis. There are restrooms, hand pump wells and activity areas in some of the picnic areas. Many find the stream fishing enjoyable along the Great Trough Creek. Fishermen will find fish such as; Panfish, Rock Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Suckers, and Trout.
